"Woman of the Moon" is an album of 11 original songs by Kym Pitman, made with the assistance of the Australia Council, backed by some of Australia's internationally acclaimed musicians and skilfully engineered at Bush Traks Studio. The result is an extraordinarily beautiful album of wide appeal.

In an age of computers and technology Kym's songs remind listeners of their nature and strength by drawing analogies between human issues and the natural world. They inspire emotional recognition of human experiences amidst haunting and varied instrumentation. Beautiful music with womanly wise lyrics ... songs which become your friends.

The album has a feminine, spiritual nature which would reach audiences such as those of Enya and Loreena McKennitt. It also has an essential Australian flavour evoking resonance of Australian nature and dreamtime spirit. This suggests its appeal to fans of Shane Howard, Neil Murray, Coolangubbra and others.

The instrumentation and rhythmic feels give the music a cross-cultural flavour appealing to world music and folk audiences, and it appeals also to those who enjoy contemporary female folk and country artists in the genres of Joni Mitchell, Mary Black or Mary Chapin Carpenter.
